Perhaps the problem will be resolved thanks to the efforts of Italdesign, which in partnership with the European Airbus Avia Higigant creates an intracity modular electric transport system, capable of both moving along the roads and flying through the air, “multimodal transport”. As the representative of ITALDESIN, Nicola Guelfo, said, the concept she created includes a ground module, passengers capsule and an air module.
“We want to use the equipment most effectively,” N. Guelfo explained. - On the highway, we do not need propellers with engines, and in the air - wheels with electric drive. "
Passengers are in a capsule, to which propellers or from below the chassis are attached from above (like a carriage by a railway car). According to the Italians, using multimodal transport in the city, people will get rid of the need to cross the car or bus to the subway and other modes of transport. The passenger will not need to leave the capsule at all. Moreover, the ability to pilot flying agents and drive cars from it is not supposed to be used everywhere automation and artificial intelligence.
It is curious that the concept was not limited. A program to call new transport through mobile devices is already being developed and some technical details of the modular machine itself, such as the device of the battery module, are thought out.
Bolovan in the game
As the specialist of the Airbus department notes for innovation, Dmitry Melukov, it is wrong to consider each mode of transport in the urban environment.
“For example, if we release some kind of personal flying device, and at this time on the roads where autonomous cars are driving, traffic jams will disappear, we will have to review our eyes on aviation mobility,” Dmitry Melukov explains, which is why we really like to cooperate with the innovative company ITALDESIGN, which creates modular systems for moving along roads and by roads air ".
It should be noted that planes and helicopters - the basis of today's aviation - gained the usual appearance 40-50 years ago. Today, the main “work horses” of passenger aviation are trunk and regional aircraft, which are not in the world - about 20–25 thousand each year they transport 3 billion passengers, and the total annual raid is estimated at 65 million hours. In parallel, there is a global fleet of helicopters.
