Overall, steel production fell 10.3% in December from the same month the previous year to 68.18 million tons. This is the minimum volume in two years.
The decrease was 2.4% compared to November. A decrease in production in monthly comparison was recorded for the seventh month in a row.
Experts attribute this to the protracted crisis in the real estate market, which led to a significant weakening of demand for metal products.
